How Zimbabwe's Petrol Price Jumped 39 Percent in Three Weeks
Zimbabwe issued two separate fuel price hikes in March 2026, the steepest back-to-back increases in the SADC region, as global oil prices surged following US and Israeli strikes on Iran. The increases have driven up bus fares, food prices, and transport costs for workers across the country, and directly triggered the nurses' strike at three major Harare hospitals.
